Florida state law protects the confidentiality of the professional relationship between a client and therapist. As such, no information will be disclosed without your written permission - with the following exceptions noted:
- Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- In case of a credible threat of serious life-endangering bodily harm to another person/s, we may be required to notify and inform the intended victim.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, we will take necessary measures - without client permission, if needed - to protect human life.
